Shopmobility Basingstoke provides fantastic facilities for those with mobility challenges and has a wide range of mobility scooters and wheelchairs for all abilities.
Basingstoke & Deane “Young at Heart” Over 55’s Forum was established in 2004 as part of the strategy “Promoting Quality of Life for Older People in Basingstoke & Deane”.
It is a voluntary organisation for everyone in the Borough over the age of 55 and aims to:
- Provide a voice for the over 55’s in the Borough, putting their views to authorities and other organisations;
- Work to ensure a better quality of life for the over 55’s;
- Promote health, well-being and good citizenship for the over 55’s;
- Oppose unfair discrimination on grounds of age;
- Provide information on the services and facilities available to the over 55’s

Basingstoke Voluntary Services (BVS) is a member of the National Association for Voluntary and Community Action (NAVCA) and is also a member of the National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO). BVS was set up in 1965 as a result of the town expansion. It has been instrumental in starting many of the groups that are now household names in the borough including Relate, Headway, Dial-a-Ride, Community Transport, Rape Crisis, CRUSE, Victim Support, Age Concern and lately Basingstoke Advocacy Services, Face Us, a family centre for people who are deaf and Basingstoke and District Community Mediation Service.
